Highlights of 2010

Just writing my cultural highlights for the year. Mine included watching Paolo Nutini drink a lot and sing beautifully in 30 degree heat in the old town of Lucca, Italy . And the kids’ comedy club at The Stand, where mini Glaswegians heckled more outrageously than their adult counterparts. “You should die!” one of cutie pies suggested.

Nice to see Bloody Women on a couple of Best lists for the year. Nigel Bird calls  it “dark and entertaining” while Brian Lindenmuth says it’s “one of the greatest fucking psycho-noirs you haven’t read yet…U.S. readers need to get hip to Fitzgerald NOW — she’s like Allan Guthrie with ovaries — c’mon!”

I would like to marry both of them.
