I’m starting the copy edit of The Donor today. It scares me for two reasons. First, because I’ve read the book so many times it’s become a blur. And second, because I always screw things up when technology enters the scene: for me, writing a book is easy compared with getting my head around track changes. I’ve lost essays, short stories and screenplays by pressing buttons I shouldn’t press and not pressing ones I should. Thankfully, the copy editor has given me step by step instructions on how to not screw this up. I suppose I should read them.
